Oil and gas: the idea of the development of the industry was presented by the students of St. Petersburg and Murmansk


May 12-13, at the same time in two cities, Petersburg and Murmansk, the first oil and gas case competition among students who presented their innovative ideas for creating concepts of the oil field. The case competition was held within the framework of the regional stage of one of the most ambitious projects on case-teaching students “Eureka. The future of education”.

The first oil and gas case competition involves the development of solutions to specific problem situation, a thorough study of the industry and gathered on one platform and talented students, representatives of state authorities and expert community. Ideas and development of students evaluated:

— Chief specialist of the “State Commission on mineral reserves,” Deputy Secretary of the North West oil and gas section of Central development Commission Rosnedra on UVS (Saint-Petersburg), curator of the direction “Geology of oil and gas”, St. Petersburg state University Vladimir Lushpai;
— Deputy Director of information-analytical center
“The Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University Peter the Great” Maxim dyldin;

These formats attract students are especially important for industrial economy: views of young and ambitious and global issues of oil and gas are a potential solution to many problems. Of the key ideas of students is the program of reserve estimation and selection of technologies according to the characteristics of the deposits developed by the students in Saint-Petersburg schools (the “Procal dubio”). The participants of the case competition, the team “Brainstorm” and “Burn to Shine”, able to make forecasts of oil prices and the dollar exchange rate, to calculate the tax on mineral extraction and export duties. In addition, high school students from team “Die avocado” suggested to more actively use modern method biopav, which refers to the innovative microbiological technology is in the development of oil and oil products.
