Former employees of the interior Ministry, raising children with disabilities, provide a preferential right to a lump-sum social payments



The state Duma adopted in the third and final reading a bill allowing former employees of the interior Ministry who have children with disabilities, to move to the front of the queue for receiving social security payments. According to deputies, now their rights are insufficiently secured.

Currently, the right to receive social security payments to eligible retirees of the Ministry of internal Affairs, with three or more children living with them are awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, veterans of fighting in Afghanistan. According to the authors of the bill, it was injustice not to include in this list the former employees of the interior Ministry with children with disabilities.

“Thus, the bill is intended to restore social justice, ensuring that priority for social guarantees for citizens, with at least one disabled child living together with them”, – stated in the explanatory note to the document.
