Nigeria’s world record holder and China’s Rio 2016 silver medallist competing in men’s up to 65kg
The men’s up to 65kg will be a showdown between Kehinde (L) and Peng
After claiming gold at Rio 2016, Paul Kehinde is hoping to win his maiden world title at the Mexico City 2017 World Para Powerlifting Championships, from 30 September-6 October.
The Nigerian, who also holds the world record in the men´s up to 65kg thanks to a 220kg lift at last year´s Paralympics, cannot allow himself to relax. Hu Peng cleared the bar at 200kg to seal Paralympic silver in Rio and will be tough-to-beat in Mexico City.
The Chinese also has two World Championships under his belt, snatching bronze at Dubai 2014.
